Who am i
My name is ken walker and after suffering a breakdown out of the blue and for no apparent reason, went through the system, medication, CPN's, hospital, emergency room, psychiatrists, groups etc.etc. and when the NHS decided i could survive on my own they withdrew their services. It took me 4 years to sort my head out, get off the drugs and back on track. The activity groups organised by the mental health support services did a lot to help me recover, when they were withdrawn due to financial cutbacks, i felt strongly that there were insufficient organised activities to motivate people that final step to recovery. Several of us had been meeting regulary together for a few years so i took it a stage further, which led to this registered charity of which i am the chairman and there are three further trustees, all of which have been unable to work due to mental health problems and give their time free of charge.
A more detailed but brief history of who i am will be e-mailed to you on request.
